Indoor workplaces where metal arc welding and similar operations are conducted must implement ventilation through a general ventilation system or take equivalent or greater measures. Additionally, indoor workplaces that continuously perform metal arc welding and similar operations are required to measure the concentration of welding fumes in the air through personal sampling. As engineering measures for welding operations, there are "push-pull ventilation systems" and "local exhaust systems" that prevent diffusion to the surroundings while maintaining safety and workability.
